Meditech Upgrade to 5.6/6.0 with Scripting Tool Boston WorkStation

If you think you can't use scripting tools with your MEDITECH upgrade, you haven't used Boston WorkStation.

Boston WorkStation has over 25 hospitals successfully automating workflow in the 5.6 and 6.0 environment. We have a host of vendor partners who are connecting their applications to these Meditech systems including Emdeon, CSC/First Consulting Group, and Craneware.

If you are upgrading to 6.0, you'll find that Meditech is no longer supporting the use of the MCScript dll in C/S 6.0. What does that mean for scripting? This .dll provided the row and column position of the cursor, the screen name, the contents of editable fields and other information about the Meditech Client Server screen. This means any scripting tool that uses this .dll will not work with C/S 6.0. In addition, some buttons and functions in C/S 6.0 cannot be accessed via the keyboard, requiring the use of the mouse - something many scripting tools cannot do today in C/S 5.5.

Before you begin your Meditech upgrade ask your scripting vendor if their tool can:

Detect the row and column position of the cursor?
Detect and read error messages and popup windows?
Read all the text on the screen?
Click icons by their name?
Select menu items by name?
Are there hospitals and business partners writing their own scripts?
Can I script the way I always have?

With Boston WorkStation, the answer to all these questions is YES!  View a web presentation discussing how scripting in Meditechd 5.6/6.0 is different.  Let us show you how we can help with your Meditech upgrade!
