Boston Software Systems, a leading developer of workflow automation and process improvement tools and SolCom, Inc., a provider of healthcare content and workflow management solutions, announced today a partnership which will allow faster development of workflow automation solutions for a variety of business and financial office processes within the healthcare industry.
The partnership allows Boston WorkStation™ healthcare integration tools to be utilized in SolCom solutions.
“The primary reason for using Boston Software Systems technology is to develop a standard methodology for interfacing our product into the customer’s system, no matter what healthcare application they are using,” stated Marv Addink, President of SolCom, Inc. “Since the Boston WorkStation product offers universal connectivity, we can speed the implementation of our products, instead of writing custom interfaces every time we come across a new application.”
To accelerate the revenue cycle in healthcare facilities, SolCom is using Boston WorkStation in their Registration Workstation product which captures insurance card, consent form, and other information related to the patient registration at the point-of-service and gives users the ability to launch capturing and payment collection tools directly from their desktop. Boston WorkStation is also used with SolCom’s PFS Module to organize, secure and provide access to electronic documents needed for claims processing eliminating misfiled documents and minimizing manual labor. In addition, SolCom will be using Boston WorkStation to help facilities automate eligibility checking and automatically route results for appropriate follow-up.
“The ability to eliminate paper documents from the system and provide our financial services staff with immediate, accurate patient information is a huge benefit,” stated Kim Bliss of ViaHealth in Rochester, NY. “We’ll be able to improve our claims filing and in turn speed up our revenue cycle.”
“Managing workflow has become a priority in most healthcare organizations,” stated Steve Cohen, Executive Vice President of Boston Software Systems. “By combining our unique strengths in this specific area, Boston Software Systems and SolCom are able to provide the industry with huge savings in time and resources while delivering solutions quickly and efficiently.”
Boston WorkStation simplifies and improves workflow by allowing healthcare providers and vendors to automate or accelerate the time-consuming processes that are done manually and create stable interfaces between legacy, custom and third party applications and systems. It has saved thousands of man-hours and dollars for hospitals around the world.
Boston WorkStation offers the flexibility of PC, minicomputer or mainframe connectivity and easy development on any Microsoft operating platform. It successfully accesses any Windows application, enabling the user to create interfaces with character-based, DOS or windows applications.
