Boston WorkStation Successfully Connects New Meditech Beta Versions

Posted on 8/3/2007

SHERBORN, Mass. — August  3, 2007—Boston Software Systems™, the leader in workflow automation technology to the healthcare market, announced today that it’s flagship scripting product, Boston WorkStation™, has successfully connected to new MEDITECH beta versions 5.6 and 6.0. Boston Software Systems’ developers are working closely with three of MEDITECH’s beta sites, which are testing MEDITECH 5.6 and 6.0.

The new MEDITECH versions have completely redesigned screens and field locations, making any previously written scripts unusable. They also lack the application programming interfaces (APIs) found in previous versions of MEDITECH systems, making it impossible for scripting tools that connect to MEDITECH via these APIs to function.

Rob Woodard, financial applications analyst at Norman Regional Health System, Norman, OK said “Really, we’re blazing new trails here. The Boston Software Systems development team has been terrific to work with, and we’re very close to creating our pharmacy dictionary which is one of the most complex dictionaries within the MEDITECH system.” Norman Regional Health System is converting to MEDITECH 5.6 this year and is scheduled to go live by December 1, 2007. “Boston WorkStation has been hugely valuable to our organization, and seeing the company’s commitment to making it work easily and reliably with this challenging new version of MEDITECH is wonderful.”

Other MEDITECH beta sites that are testing Boston WorkStation include Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisburg, VA and West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, GA. Boston WorkStation has proven to connect, log,in and navigate menus within the new MEDITECH 5.6 and 6.0 versions at these sites.
