In the past year, Boston Software Systems added more than 100 new hospital sites. Among the new customers are: Catholic Health East, Pa., Wishard Health Services, Ind., Winber Medical Center, Pa. and Kindred Healthcare, Ky. In addition, Boston Software Systems saw an increase in business outside the U.S. New Canadian customers include Shared Services West, Ontario, Guelph General Hospital, Ontario and Eastern Health-Waterford Hospital, Newfoundland. Boston Software Systems also welcomed Mount Carmel Hospital in Ireland and Ramsey Healthcare in Australia to its customer base. Demonstrating a strong commitment to the technology, approximately one-third of these new hospitals purchased enterprise licenses, allowing them to deploy Boston WorkStation throughout their facilities.
Leading application vendors in the healthcare sector increasingly rely on Boston Software Systems to provide the automation and integration piece for their solutions. Business with these partners increased dramatically with the addition of more than 30 new application vendor partners. Close partner alliances delivered more than 150 installations of Boston WorkStation throughout the world. Among the newest partners actively using Boston Software Systems in their solutions are: IntelliDOT patient safety systems, Initiate Systems, EMPI systems, Meditech SA (Medical Information Technology SA (Pty) Ltd.), software and services, and KeyMark, document management systems.
New Products
In Q1 '07, Boston Software Systems unveiled Boston WorkStation v9.0, which offers greater connectivity and provides a simpler way to manage, change or analyze the performance of all scripts running throughout a hospital. In addition, version 9 can provide a high level strategic view of the efficiency of processes throughout the enterprise.
In Q2 '07, the company launched UNISON™ 2.0 and saw a 63 percent increase in sales of UNISON during the year. Built on the Boston WorkStation technology, UNISON is a stand-alone application for hospitals using MEDITECH information systems to simplify the updating, maintenance and synchronization of data dictionaries. UNISON enables users to reduce development of synchronizations from 30 hours to 20 minutes, and schedule them to occur regularly without human intervention. Additional features include an enhanced GUI, data mapping, field mapping and target synchronization.
